Pipework
We have supplied and installed stainless steel pipework for industries including Food and Beverage and Cruise Ship operators.
We have supplied and installed stainless steel pipework for both the food and beverage industry and cruise ship operators.
Stainless steel pipework is used in the food industry because there is no measurable chemical reaction between the stainless steel and the food. Not only will the material remain pristine, but so will the food, untainted by metallic constituents or corrosion products.
Our skilled welders are able to fabricate pipework in house for supply only, or install on site for the customer.
We offer both steel and stainless steel pipework and have a dedicated stainless steel workshop, allowing material segregation. This ensures there is no cross-contamination between ferrous (contains iron & is corrosive) and non-ferrous (no iron & non-corrosive) materials.
Because of the complexity of some of the pipework projects, our experienced welders always work to agreed specification and drawings supplied by the customer or by our own design engineer. Where possible, we also make a site visit to measure and discuss the customer requirements.
Fabrication specification should specify welding and jointing procedures and the extent of visual and non-destructive testing.
PIPE JOINTS
Pipe joints are often the point of leakage on pipework systems and the number of joints in piping systems should be minimised where practicable.
Joints can be permanently welded for high integrity systems, or reformable types, such as flanged, screwed or compression fittings may be used.
The jointing method required would be detailed on the specification supplied by the customer.
We weld joints using MIG (Metal Inert Gas) & TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) along with Weld backing tape which helps to pull the weld through for cleaner internal welds.
